This week, in our section “Curious news from the world”, we want to tell you about a very entertaining documentary that tells about what in Finland has become a real sport: the races with wooden horses.

Yes, it’s said Hobbyhorse Revolution , a docufilm (here the trailer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=flTg90kCv_8 ) that presents the world of these races and the fans, but also the difficulties that they face in front of those who teases them, claiming that the sport they love “is the most stupid thing in the world”, which would push many of the 10,000 fans estimated in Finland not to advertise their passion too much.

The feature film tells how girls (this is a purely feminine sport) train for many hours a week, face national competitions where posture, walking is judged and of course the jumps.

As you can see from the images, the athletes use a wooden horse, exactly the ones with which the children play, with the plush head and the body consisting of a wooden handle. / p>

This particular sport has had a certain following in Finland for about a decade, but it has only been international for a few months, after the director Selma Vilhunen has discovered the existence of this sport and decided to dedicate a short film, entitled “ Hobbyhorsing Revolution “, which also has its own Instagram page: https://www.instagram.com/hobbyhorserevolution /

This week we take you to the magical world of ponies, to discover a truly original riding school, we talk about the “Team la Pista”.

This project stems from the will of Simone Sordi and Susanna Bordone to create a high-level riding school that could involve all age groups. With this in mind, the project of the competitive pony club is developed, which gives the possibility to all the students of the team to try their hand at the main disciplines: show jumping, gimkane, gimkane-jump and complete.

With the passing of time the competitive team has become a real family in which everything is shared; from emotions to values, from experiences to sacrifices, to the long-awaited victories.
Among these stands out the victory at the regional pony ludic championships in May 2017 where the podium has become all yellow! On that occasion the team consisted of: Camilla Zizza with Caramel, Matteo Boldrini with Markus, Lorenzo Boldrini with Geja, Elisa Di Stefano with Marylin, Sofia Civardi with Markus, Sara Maiocchi with Bright, Emma Groppaglio with Bright, Gaia Piccino with Geja , Stefano Muzzu with Ozieresa and Sofia Pollini with Bright.

Each of these binomials has a particular story: an intertwining of emotions, disappointments and victories, all linked by the same passion: riding and team attachment.
Since that day, the students of Team La Pista have embarked on a path to obtaining the patent, growing from a sporting and competitive point of view. The new members have started a journey made of discoveries, tests and fun that can then lead them to important achievements and satisfactions.
